Hello all, I've been trying to mod my guitar, and I want to upgrade the neck on my Ibby from a Wizard II to a Super Wizard Prestige, will the Prestige neck fit the neck joint on my current guitar? Need answers asap. Thanks.Wizard II:Scale/Length 648mm/25.5 a: Width at Nut 43mm b: Width Last fretfuss: worry unnecessarily or excessively; don't fuss too much over the grandchildren--they are quite big nowhttp://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=fret 56mm c: Thickness 1st Fret 19mm d: Thickness 12th Fret 21mm Radius 400mm Super Wizard Prestige:Scale/Length 648mm/25.5 a: Width at Nut 43mm b: Width Last Fret 58mm c: Thickness 1st Fret 17mm d: Thickness 12th Fret 19mm Radius 430mmYou're missing the key part to the equation. From the details I'm seeing, odds are it'll fit, or it'll at least fit without having to mod the body too much, but it's hard to tell. They have identical scale lengths, which is a strong starting point. The trouble is, from there, where does the neck meet the body? In other words, if two necks are designed for the same scale length and one attaches to the body at the 24th fret but the other attaches at the 5th fret, obviously they won't be interchangeable. If they have the same amount of frets, then odds are it's ok. The old carpenter's rule, measure twice, cut once. Better yet, measure three times. If they're the same length from nut to the very end of the neck at the joint, you're good to go.The 2mm difference in width at the last fret works in your advantage here, since the replacement one is wider than the old one. That means that worst case scenario it doesn't fit, and you'll have to shave down some of the body's end of the neck joint to make it work. That's a whole lot better than having the reverse situation in which there's a 2mm gap that needs to be filled.I strongly recommend taking it to a pro who has some references, because I've heard horror stories about bad shops ripping people off and destroying their babies. If you don't wanna shell out the bucks, at least do your research well and measure three times before you take the final plunge.
