This is a 2007 Slash Epiphone Les Paul in Tobacco Burst. Made in the Qingdao Plant (Epiphone), China August 2007 Very good shape with no scratches, no dings or chips. If I was to rate it I would say a 9.5 out of 10, pictures do not do it justice. This is one of the nicest finishes I have ever seen on an Epiphone. Actually looks like it is wet in person, absolutely beautiful. Comes with the case, key, pick guard, warranty card, and cable. The case is in brand new condition, and all in great shape. I will guarantee as described upon delivery, other than that it is as is. This will ship UPS Ground within two days of payment. Full purchase price insurance included in the cost. This is an Austin copy of a “335″ type guitar, with two humbuckers each having their own volume and tone control, and a 3-way switch for choosing either or both pickups. Pretty much the standard configuration for this sort of guitar. I’ve played guitar for over 30 years, violin before that, so believe me when I say plays great, low action, stays in tune well. The neck just plain feels fast to me, I seem to be able to really burn on this one. One of the frets doesn’t always ring quite true, so it could possibly use a little filing, or maybe a slight neck adjustment is needed. It’s never a bad idea in any case to expect a little setup when buying a guitar online, and I don’t think this one is far off. Very few if any scratches, except that the top of the headstock seems a little cloudy (see pic), which I think is from rubbing on the top of the Torch gig bag that came with it, which is just a touch too short for the guitar. Sorry about that. The gig bag will nevertheless be included for the padding en route, you can decide if you want to continue using it or not. If you keep it, it helps to be careful when removing or replacing the guitar in the bag. Otherwise, the guitar looks gorgeous in person, better than the pictures, with a subtle but easily discernible flame in the wood grain showing through the cherry finish. The sound of the humbuckers, to me, is nice, warm and jazzy, but personally I’ve thought of swapping in some high end pickups, which to me would make it a dream guitar. In fact, I’ve been pricing “G” brand pickups and may just go ahead and do that if she doesn’t sell this time. Austin guitars are apparently a well kept secret, so this guitar has been relisted a coupla times, but I get closer and closer to just keeping her every time I relist. Opening bid and reserve are now set under half of what one of these goes for new on Ebay, or you can guarantee it will be yours by using Buy It Now before anyone else bids. I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar, for anything from jazz to rock, without any modifications, to a beginner or intermediate player, or an advanced player who wants to get into hollowbody. I also would not even hesitate to recommend it to a touring jazz pro who would maybe like to do a few upgrades in order to have a full fledged backup or be able leave the vintage treasure at home. Overall, Austin makes one heck of a guitar for the money, and this one’s half-price! You may return the guitar, in the same condition it is received, for the purchase price, within 3 days of receiving it if you find it is not as advertised. Return shipping will be the buyer’s responsibility. I will also throw in shipping insurance.
