Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 PEAVEY AUSTIN 400 Up for auction is a 1985 Peavey Austin 400 Acoustic/Electric guitar amplifier. This thing is like new! And the sound is nothing short than amazing! 210 watts of pure output power. Two 12” Peavey Scorpion speakers PLUS dual speaker horns for the acoustic side. You simply can not imagine the power this puppy puts out and yet maintains such a pure sound at enormous decibels. I just got it back from having it serviced and the tech said that this amplifier has about the best layout he has ever seen. He said it should last forever because everything that would produce heat is at one end of the board and there is a very large heat sink to keep the board nice and cool. I thought “But of coarse…it’s made in the USA!” The entire amplifier, speakers, case and all were made in Meridian Mississippi. None of that junk that’s built to be thrown away after a few years…rock solid. All the pots have been professionally cleaned and ready to go…no obnoxious, scratchy sounds…just pure Peavey. Lefthanded Kent bolt on neck LP copy, possibly made in Japan or Korea. It’s similar to a few of the Ibanez/Aria/Cort/etc guitars from the “lawsuit era” of guitar manufacturing. I’m not sure of the age, but I’m guessing late 70’s to early 80’s. The previous owner set up some weird wiring configuration so he could split the coils & put them in & out of phase. The top volume knob is the master & the other 3 knobs are for setting the coil taps & phasing. I dont know the settings myself but I do know he used a DiMarzio kit to do it. This guitar does show some signs of its age with buckle rash, scratches & dings in various places but it’s still a solid guitar.
